So today is the day I made a start on installing the California Cycleworks big tank on my 1100 Evo SP. After all, the weather has turned nasty so what else is there to do on a weekend before the PS4 arrives So this is the old tank successfully removed; And this is the air box out and replacement filters on: And as you can see the filters on the breathers: Next step is a couple of cans of cider and a curry and I'll get back on the case tomorrow....
Job done: Now where could I go with 200 miles in the tank Side covers to go on but not till I've fitted my temi.....
According to the people who make the tank it works fine with the full termi although I'm presently minded to get some dyno work done. I've heard there's a place in Bristol that's not bad so will get it done either now or in the spring as I have a feeling the salt trucks will be out in the next day it two and my hyper is allergic to salt!
All in it was £750 including delivery from over the pond and tax. I could just about justify the spend as I fitted it myself - probably mad but I've spent more for less in the past!
Yup - that's louigi moto's (about 5 miles away from my place) its out in the middle of nowhere on a trading estate with no signage (they like to keep quiet just incase the pikey's get wind of it) as its full of expensive machinery....apparently 420 quid gets your bike a full day on the dyno. I had my rsv serviced there last year - heard nothing but good things about the dyno work.
My guess is that the ideal mapping would change with filters instead of the airbox - can't imagine it would be a huge difference given the tank makers don't suggest a remap is required. Why don't you give the guys who did the map a buzz and ask - they may even chuck in a free re-tune!
