899 Bike Cut Out.

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Biot, Jun 9, 2019.

  1. Just been out on the 899 and riding along north Norfolk into Sheringham and the bike dies. No power, no dash, nothings.
Stop switch off ignition then turn it back on. Dash lights up as normal so start it and off I go again. Very odd. Fine then all the home. Not played with anything electric or removed any bodywork so puzzled. Any clues?

  2. Check power and ground connections. Check/clean... battery terminal connections, chassis ground connection, power connections at starter relay (and check that the main system fuse is properly seated), check ignition switch connector, and kill switch connector. If it happened once, it may happen again. Intermittent problems are a pain.

  3. Cheers. khmer, I'll go through that list. had a GSXR750 cut out in lane 3 of the M25 in torrential rain. Wasn't fun trying to coast over to the hard shoulder only using my momentum I can tell you. Don't want to go through that again.
