Bike friendly hotels in or around St Moritz

  1. Hi all, off to Andermatt and St Moritz later this month. Has anyone stayed in a decent hotel in Moritz they would recommend? We're only there for one night, but covered parking and a bath in the room etc would be useful (but not essential) if someone has already stayed there.
    Cheers,

  2. Why not look at Zernez instead of St Moritz.
I've stayed in St. Moritz, but only in a 5 star hotel. When I'm biking I prefer something more relaxed and in a smaller town.
I'm off to Andermatt, then across to Cortina, next month. I'm staying in Zernez & not St. Moritz this time.
Can't make any recommendations though until I'm back.....

  3. I recommend the Hotel Waldhaus am See : Waldhaus St. Moritz, St. Moritz package, Unterkunft St Moritz - Hotel Waldhaus am See

It has the biggest whisky bar in the world (by number of whiskies stocked and orderable). It's actually pretty much a family hotel - not as expensive or twinky as it looks. It's always been very friendly to me - but then I know the owner Herr Bernasconi from my whisky-marketing career. It's a great setting - on the lake (well not on stilts, obviously). Give it a whirl.

  4. St. Moritz isn't exactly a megopolis, is it? More like a rather expensive village.

  5. Cheers gents,
I already tried the Waldhaus from a previous thread but it's fully booked unfortunately. Take your point about zernez though. I'll check it out.
