Morning all, Ive got a european trip coming up in September and have decided I might looking in to renting a bike for the 4-5 days. Ive had a quick look online this morning and found a couple of companies, some of which it seems you can actually rent the new multistrada which I quite fancy a blast on. Yes I could use my own bike but I wanted to see what touring on something slightly more comfortable was like and if I got on with it. Are there any companies any of you have used? Anything to watch out for? Ps - I'm based in Nottingham so any that drop off and collect would be good and panniers/boxes included would be a bonus
My brother's toured Europe extensively on his 1098S. They really not that uncomfortable once you're on the move, only causing a bit of strain if you're stuck in town. But to be fair, if you're riding a bike that's unfamiliar to you it's likely to be just as uncomfortable anyway, because you've not had time to settle into it. Take your own bike, it's less stressful than worrying about someone else's property.
Agree with figaro done 2500 around France and Spain last year on my 1098s and it was fine. 650 miles in one day down to Andora. Take your own bike you will enjoy it more. Regards Steve
Depends where you are going, there is a company in Cannes or Nice that rent Ducati and BMW. They have multistrada's but this means flying out first. On the flip side this gives you more time once you've got there. CIMT in Italy as well if thats where you want to tour, also have Ducati's
What about your gear? I assume you can hire that also? Not that I like wearing something that's been worn by someone else, you'd probably hit your weight limit on the plane just with your gear I'd guess
