  1. so am toying with the idea of getting new leathers given my waistline expansion

ive currently got a spidi r2 two piece which is fine but tight so could always get another... its well made and relatively comfortable and made in italy

question is do i go for something a bit more handmade like the many british suit makers or do i sell out and go mainstream for something branded??

it looks like BKS do some healthy discounts during their summer sales? i know scott have had ups and downs recently but looks like a lot of TT riders have tested their suits in anger so thats good enough for me...

theres always a kushitani but beyond my reach for now

  2. There's RST as well, worn by many others and now including James Witham who uses them for his Trackday school.

  3. 4SR are going round the BSB paddock like a dose of... Well, you know. They look pretty good and the prices are really competitive

  4. I've had a set of 2-piece BKS leathers since '99 and fortunately I've managed to still squeeze into them, so can recommend them in terms of quality. Even had a nasty highside on the track and they survived with just a few scruffs. If you're not fussed with leathers, want more of a touring option and don't mind burning a hole in our wallet, then go for RUKKA.

  5. thanks for the input gents more food for thought

  6. I've just bought some Held Slade leathers. They were more than I wanted to spend but they fit like a glove and are beautifully made with quality leather and materials :)

  7. I bought a 1 piece Spada on sale 3 weeks ago, wore it once, some stitching came undone, took it back to the shop who sent it to Spada to get repaired. 2 weeks later I have no suit and no date for the suit to be returned as Spada are not responding to the bike shop. :rage::Banghead:

  8. What about Hideout ?

Scott Leathers. How recent is recently? I don't know know, they had a problem a while back I believe.
However, 2-3 years ago Jim at Scott leathers measured me and made me a set of leathers that fit perfectly.
Excellent workmanship. I can't tell you how happy I was with them.

I've got long limbs and as he said off the peg is not going to fit.

Off the peg can never fit as well as made to measure...unless you're very lucky. See El T above.

Your best bet is to place an order with whatever manufacturer in the Autumn, that's when they don't have enough work. Forget the spring, it's manic.

If I were you I'd go to the bike show in November and do it then.

    Hope this helps.
