well not used the bike for a week and half due to shifts and its been on a charger since and got it out today to go for a run and suprise suprise it wont start as battery is flat. it has no alarm or anything drawing power so ive had to call ducati breakdown out. the bike is brand new multistrada with 300 miles on the clock. cant say I'm impressed.
Sorry to hear your bother. A couple of possibilities, if you leave the red slider starter switch in the down position it can drain the battery. Or if the remote key is stored too close to the bike that can also drain the battery. Just a thought.
neither of them mate. the switch was fully up as id put the steering lock on which is the only thing i can think may have caused it and key was no where near it was in the house. very peed off to say the least that a 17k wont start a week later
ha. luckily the dealer didnt answer the phone when i was really peed off but will be trying again shortly
Sorry to hear of your trouble. Either the battery is a defective one from the start, or there is some wiring fault causing discharge. Up to dealer to fix it under warranty pronto. And no, they don't "all do that sir".
definatly. shouldn't drop to below 11v after a week even without a charger attatched. to top it al i called ducati assist out and 2 hrs later they still arent here.
Ha I know loved but was crippling me. May have been partially my fault as noticed charger wasn't actually plugged in at the wall ha
Thats what I thought. Shouldn't go flat on 2 weeks. Will be mentioned at dealers when gets 1st service
My dealer advised me to keep mine on charge simply because of all the additional electrical gubbins the Multi has and uses.
On the subject of batteries, my wife and I attended church one Sunday morning when half way through the vicars sermon the wife says to me, "I've just let out a long, sweaty, silent fart, what should I do?" "You should replace the battery in your hearing aid!"
Nope but wondering if having the steering lock on has had a drain. Can understand some drain after not turning the charger on but still a little suprised about not having enough to get started
If you go into the settings menu you can see what the voltage level is at the battery and if the bike was running you can check what the charge rate is. Not that this helps with your immediate problem.
