I just wanted to share the contents of my petrol tank with others. This is what happens when I had a useless bike cover that wasn't waterproof and would stick to the top of the tank when it rained. That along with an obviously leaky filler cap seal resulted in one hell of a mess. Everything is now cleaned. The inside of the tank was so bad I felt like crying. But after the necessary ball bearing clean and a recoating, the rust is gone. Everything else has been flushed through with IPA (not the beer), pipes, injectors etc, and now I'm waiting for the new fuel filter, fuel pump and inlet filter to turn up. Oh and a new filler cap too. A lesson learnt, the hard way.
