Back in the summer I was getting the bike out for an evening ride. Put her out on the pavement just as a google street maps car went by. Now I have me, my bike, my house with an open garage with an interactive map that says steal me from here. Bloody google.
[h=2]How to report a concern[/h] If you've found an image that you would like further blurred, or an image that you believe contains objectionable content, just follow these steps: Locate the image in Street View. Click "Report a problem" in the bottom-left of the image window. Complete the form and click "Submit." That's it. We'll review your report promptly.
Bloody hell! Just checked google maps and mines the same! Bike, garage and everything in it on view for all to see! Reported image to google Thanks for heads up Lenoir
To be honest gmaps is the least of your worries. The chances of bike thieves toiling through images looking for a bike to pinch are almost nil - they're much more likely to see you out and about and follow you home, or spot you washing it or whatnot on a driveby. The gmap shot of my house is totally out of date - the car pictured I sold over 3 years ago. From that picture you could just as easily be visiting.
I was not bothered about the bike being on show, just the garage being open. I was happy that street view was 3 years old up until a couple of weeks ago, but there is a google project on to make it all hi-def so they will be coming back to a street near you very soon. It also says in the bottom left of the pic on street view when the pic was taken.
Can you please give me the details of the house next door, that is for sale. How many bedrooms, garden size, has it a garage, price and if the neighbours are Tools?
Had to chuckle, my mate is in full view washing his girlfriends car as she watches on, and the Google software mistook my celicas headlights for faces and blurred them out, but left me, and my numberplate in full view.
