  4. I'll be there Sunday. It isn't the mecca for buying just about everything like it was a number of years ago. I just go and enjoy the day wandering around looking at bikes, talking bikes, meeting friends. Oh and I get in for nowt for the small price of arriving early, parking my bike on the DOCGB stand all day and leaving late, but its only an hour and a bit down the road from me.

  5. these so called bike shows are simply open air markets.

  10. I went yesterday for the first time in 10 years, and it was absolute dross,in comparison to years gone by
Used to be a great weekend, rammed out with people, loads of owners/riders club stands,so much stuff going on in the Arena you'd never get a seat in the stands.
Yesterday I queued for nowt, grandstand three parts empty, loads of empty spaces everywhere.
I can't say I was surprised, motorcyclists attitudes have changed so much
For instance,I always nod/salute/leg out to another bike:always have
Only saw maybe 30 other bikes on the way up.
Not a single wave or hand raised in response, either when overtaking/being overtaken/travelling in opposite directions
At least 2 passengers looked at me like I had two heads
And nobody at any of the Owners clubs we visited made any effort to engage in conversation,it felt like you were invading their territory.(That includes DOC btw)
Hate sounding like an old git,(which I am),but the camaraderie seems to have evaporated in this country
    Maybe it's full-face helmets or biking being a "lifestyle",choice now,I don't know
Not the same in Northern Europe,at least in the areas I've travelled on my bike
    Anyway,BMF not worth eighteen quid.
My buddy got some pretty good deals on quality boots /strides etc
    And the weather was great
And the MotoGP on a big screen
But the ride home, via Molesworth/Kimbolton/B660,was worth the effort :upyeah:

  11. I quiet fancied doing this show, have a ride up from Surrey, make a bit of noise through the Dartford Tunnel then a quick wiz up to the show! However seems like a lot of these shows are getting a bit pricey! We did the Excel show this year, absolute Trash! Went to that Two years ago and had a great time! Why they put that makeshift arena in the middle of the show, I just don't know:rolleyes:

I think the event organisers are getting too greedy, hence not enough exhibitors able to afford the stand costs etc...

  12. Yeah, I went to the Excel, total pants. I had seen everything in less than an hour and a half.
