Excellent condition. Last years winter project. Loads of history. Used this year two trips to Provence. New batttery, air filter, iridium plugs, oil filter, front tyre, pads. Givi top box for full face helmet. BMW panniers keyed to ignition. Fender extender front, hugger rear. Hepco and Becker engine bars. Screen and hanguards. Super comfy seat, height adjustable. Abs working as should, heated grips. No smoke rattle, pulls like a train. 63.4K mot to August 2022. Too good as a hack. Has lots left in it for commuting or touring and save the Ducati! £2k o.v.n.o.. New project arrived today! My project bikes do not make money just fund the next.
Vastly underrated ugly duckling of a bike, I’ve had mine from new,..21 year’s now.. Makes a great “ Gentleman’s tourer” if you’re interested in actually seeing any scenery! GLWS P.S. have you advertised it. UKGSER as well?
Knew you had one and yes massively underrated in the U.K! Love them in the USA and most sales made there. Much lighter than the RT, lower than the GS. Not advertised elsewhere, not a critical sale but 4 bikes in the garage now and the new project to start. Missed out I have a full set of Goodridge lines to fit to the bike. A gentleman’s motorcycle and very comfortable 50 mpg + tourer. My new project is an 1150 adventure needs a lot of room to work around.!
The advertised one is 23 years old! The change to environmentally friendly paint on 1150 models onwards caused a whole lot of problems with peeling issues. The 1100s were built to last. Seen one a 1999 with 126k on the clock and the guy complaining the clutch was just showing signs of slipping. He had it from new! Oil changes, filter changes and the motor is bullet proof. Steel tank with thick paint, alloy wheels with very heavy coating. Basic servicing without any special tools. I love the old beemers like me they just go on and on…….and on
Brake lines fitted, reservoir diaphragm new and bled. Oil and filter change. Check out your old hoses. On this model and the GS the short hose on left calliper is prone to kinking and eventual failure. Goodridge braided lines black cover look best. Never skimp on brakes!
