In the USA they seem to wield a bigger stick at manufacturers. Do we in Europe get a 2nd class ticket? Bikes produced between 2005 and 2011 and probably caused by over tightening during maintenance. Not aware of any fatalities (or even injuries) in all that time, so not exactly a big issue is it ? The re-design adds a metal washer behind the plastic fitting (AFAIK) to stop the flange being distorted (inducing cracking) through over zealous spannering. That said....I'm glad mine is out of the problem age range
