Hey all Firstly Happy new year OK ,here is what i am thinking about , I currently own a 2023 BMW S1000RR M Package , got in April last year & did Jerez in May & again in October followed by Portimao, I only do Euro track days now (no road riding in the UK). The main tracks i ride are Almeria , Jerez , Mugello & trying the new Seville circuit at the end of April this year. I am an intermediate rider now but still progressing (in my mid 50s now ex army ,infantry & still fit) Always been running VO2 slicks , no other modifications or upgrades from stock the 2023 BMW S1K M package. Loved the new 2023 S1000RR as i had the previous Gen 4 for 3 years (2023 is all round better bike , much more refined in every area , i get asked alot so just putting it out there) & before that i had the last of the Gen 3 in M sport livery. I find the inline 4 BMW character quite hectic on track sometimes & maybe its just me but i am really interested in the way the Ducati V4S 2022 has become so refined as a track day for average riders , especially the gear by gear mapping plus the V4 engine character. Although i like the 2023 BMW I am seriously considering changing to the Ducati Pannigale 2022/3 V4S , as I believe the V4 engine & this new 2022 package will suit me better (I have not had a chance to test ride one although seen a few & discussed with owners in the paddock) What i want is a smoother all round package & engine characteristics of the V4 inc its V4 personality rather than the in line 4 BMW S1K , I am interested to hear anyone who has had the opportunity to compare both bike in the real world on track , ive seen the Neevsy stuff on MCN & the comparison video , but want to hear from any track day goers who get what im trying to saying here. PS no suggestion on anything else only intrested in the 2022/3 v4S vs S1k 2023. Cheers
As the owner of a 2022 S1000RR, and a 2013 RR previously, that's the first time I've heard the 23 bike being described as being MUCH more refined than the 22 in EVERY area.

So that is my bike spec thanks Dibs. I have never ridden a BMW, but I have ridden plenty of V-twin Ducs of all ages and specs. I was persuaded by my coach and owner of the V4 to buy it last year as he felt it could help my track times at the tracks you mention and a few others. So same rider, same tracks, different bike. Valencia 1:54 down to 1:50 Aragon 2:16 down to 2:09. Going to Portimao end of May to see if I can improve my 2:03, then Mugello to beat the 2:11s. I have explained to others that the V4 makes my limited talent, but foolish courage into a faster rider. It does this by smoothing out my clumsiness and minimising wheelspin on the gas out of corners. I have just done four days of supermoto training in Spain, so hoping to be way later on the brakes, backing it into corners
