Boots - Daytona Evo Gp Vs Dianese Axial In

Discussion in 'Clothing, Gadgets & Equipment' started by spooky, Mar 8, 2023.

  1. I’ve got the In boots and I’m pleased with them but I do find that one foot tends to cramp a bit. I’ve ridden about 600 miles in them so far. Is this likely to improve with use?

I was considering the Daytona EVO GP boots as they seem to be highly regarded. I tried a pair of Security Evo on and they seemed quite comfortable.

Can anyone provide feedback on these boots and comment on the comfort issue with the Dianese? Obviously the Daytona aren’t cheap but are you getting the best quality and protection available for the money or paying at least partly for the name?

These are the only two that interest me based on the ones I have tried, including Alpinestars. I’m not concerned about getting the best bang for your buck and the cost isn’t an issue, but that doesn’t mean I want to spend as much as possible just for the sake of it. ;)

  2. If you have dainese troosers meant for the ins, then the daytonas dont work. The dainese have that long shin protection. Which makes the boot fit less well round the calf. Comfort? Daytona is better but the ins have broken in well for me. Im on my 3rd set.

  3. Thanks.

I’m having custom leathers made and they can be made for my current In boots or for normal boots.

Did your In boots take long to break in?

  4. I have Dainese in boots, like slippers, most comfortable boots I’ve ever worn

  5. If you getting custom leathers, then Daytona all day long. I preferred them. The ins are great but the Daytona are better.

  6. Daytona are the best boots on the market in terms of safety but they’re a bit marmite in terms of fitment and take a while to bed in.

    Definitely try a pair on

  9. I've heard no two pairs of Daytona's are the same for fitment, no idea if that's true or not so I could be speaking horse sh&t.

I do however have a pair of Dainese Axial boots, and I have to say they are the comfiest boots I've owned, they're a bit of a pig to get on as there's no flex in the carbon but once my foot is in they're like comfy shoes, so easy to ride and walk around in.

  10. Were they like that from the start or did they take some time to break in?

Mine felt comfortable when I tried them and just walking around but I find that one foot cramps up after a while on the bike.

  11. My only criticism of the ins are the zips. Ive had 3 pairs. Ive replaced the zips (chris at 9lives) on all 3 pairs. Ive had several pairs of daytonas. I had a pair of GTX and they were like wearing slippers. Comfy as. The Evo G3 are comfy too.

I think their all pretty good tbh and whatever you decide will eventually be great if not initially. My ins felt great from the off. But I recommend getting zip puller tags and adding them (£3). The zip tangs are too small imo.

  12. All depends on your foot shape and size. IME, as a person with large, wide feet, the Daytona is my preferred option for both road and track. Andy

  13. I found the zip quite a struggle at first but after a short while it was no problem - either something relaxed a bit or I got the hang of it.

The Security Evo G3 I tried seemed a nice fit.

Is the inner boot with the forefoot protection worthwhile? I wonder if it might lose a bit of feel. Does that inner boot need to be used with the GP outer boot or does it work with the standard outer boot?

  14. I use SuperTech R’s

the new-new ones seem a bit better made than the outgoing model but that’s not saying much as they’re still made out of a particularly crumbly fromage!

comfy though. I’d buy Daytonas if I wasn’t so tight

  15. Had a pair of evo vortex I think they were called not to sure wife got me them. The best made boot I've ever had .they had an inner boot which for me made them lacking in feel.they also seemed to have an overly large toe section.i found getting your foot under the gear lever inconsistent.i now have some axial in boots which address the above problem but are not as good quality material wise or construction imo

  18. I was referring to 1950's not 1850's.

  19. Again if I wasn’t around for the 1950 ‘s for sure the 1850’s was the same.
