Ok so getting my kit together after buying the bike, helmet jacket gloves, check . Tried some boots , Sidi too tight or too slack , shame as my last pair of Sidi boots were perfect. Budget limited so went for RST s1 , 10-5 too slack in the heal , 10 snug, my question is will they bed in and how can I speed the process up ? Or do I just wear and suffer a bit
You can speed up the process by lightly wetting them inside and then wearing them, even if just around the house. The moisture will help the leather stretch more rapidly than weeks of normal wear.
As above, I wore my Daytonas around the office with a heavy pair of socks, for a week or so. Worked a treat.
That's how they did Doc Martins in the old days, they soaked them through then wore them all day till they were dry
Breaking in new boots can definitely be a bit of a pain, but they should settle in after a few rides as the material starts to mold to your feet. IF you are still not sure about the fit or want to look at other options try to check out this shop https://pandomoto.com/blog/product-by-tag/classic-motorcycle-boots/ I do like their stuff
Real leather will adapt to your feet better than synthetic leathers such as Lorica. Unfortunately real leather generally tends to be used more in higher end boots.
The old DM treatment. Run a bath to ankle height of tepid water, put on boots. Step in bath. Kneel and stand a few times to put the creases in. Wear round the house for a wee while, an hour has been fine for me in the past. Stuff with newspaper (if you can find any thesedays) and allow to dry. Job Jobbed.
I used a rugby ball bladder in my new Sidi boots, worked well enough in the stretching department but not in the case of those boot as they aren't real leather.
