Bosch Sparkplug Code

  1. okay i have ngk dcpr8e spark plugs fitted in my bike
    a 1999 750 ss ie
but i am looking for bosch equivalent plugs
so the question is what bosch plug code is the right one
so searching on the net i have come up with 3 different plug codes as an equivalent
    yr7de
    yr6des
    xr5dc
so which one is the right one

  2. Personally I'd stick to NGK standard copper core as you have fitted. Is there any reason you want Bosch?

  3. The YR7DE is the equivalent of the NGK DCPR8E-N. The XR5DC is the equivalent of an NGK DR7EA which has no projected nose and is a grade colder. I can't find an equivalent for the YR6DES but the 6 would indicate it's a grade hotter or colder, depending on how the numbers work for Bosch plugs.
    I'd stick with NGKs too.

  4. had bosch plugs before in my cars and found them good
just with ngk R rated plugs i find they break down easy and dont last long
last one only lasted around 40-50 miles
and have had issues with them for a few years
never had an issue with non R rated plugs
