848 Bought A 1098 Chain Set For My 848...

  1. Hi,
I've made a mistake and bought a chain kit for hte 1098 with 15t front and 38rear. OEM the rear is 39. Since front is much cheaper, can I just put a 14T front sprocket and leave the 38t at the rear. This way I will up the RPM slightly. Will this work :)?
    Thanks!

  2. Don't you go up on the rear down on the front?

  3. That's why I'm thinking about putting a 14T sprocket in the front, thats one down from the oem setup and just leave the more expensive rear sprocket at one less, that combination will give me a slightly lower rpms.

  4. I'm no expert, if you are near bled next month maybe show me the 848 though :)

  5. Surely you are not gaining anything dropping the front and rear?

  6. The 1098 has six Cush drive/ bolts whereas the 848 has 5. Unless you have a quick detach sprocket carrier (such a Renthal, STM etc) it won’t fit.

  9. Bloody hell you're right, yeah this won't fit :D Does any of you perhaps know if the EK srx chains are any good? Thinking of buying it off of ebay with a both sprockets and carrier and just be done with it.

  10. Well, considering the size of my country, everything is near everything:D I live some 130kms away, but i'd be more than happy to ride up there and buy you a beer, just let me know when you're coming here:upyeah:

  11. 16th -17th April be in bled for 10 days :) be great to meet we can always drive towards wherever you are

  12. Tbh, I wouldn't be stationary there, there are sooo many great things to see close by, so unless you'll be doing a lot of skiing up there, it would be great to go on a little tour. No problem, I can come up there, no issues:)!
