Very odd when I left work tonight, I started up my beloved monster to be greeted by an empty fuel guage (flashing red small icon) and a side stand warning that would not go off and yet let me ride away (side stand up of course). Turned it off and back on, same thing except the main fuel warning light on the top of the dash is now also flashing.... I had well over half a tank after filling up yesterday so very confused. Rode home, everything working besides the disco dash. Stopped the bike, restarted and fuel guage now showing half a tank and side stand warning going off when stand lifted as expected. I'll ring the dealer and/or Ducati tomorrow as a bit worried by today's episode. Anyone else seen this?
Is it cold/wet where you had the bike today? Sounds like moisture or something in a connection that dried out during the ride home
It's been cold yes and I washed the bike yesterday afternoon but let it dry well before covering as I do every night and it was fine when I rode it the 30 miles to work this morning
Well, it's been OK again this morning. I rang WM Snell's to ask them about it. They reckon the ecu might need a reboot but just to keep an eye on it for now. So, we'll see!
I find it hard to believe it's water related, despite being the most obvious. My bike has to sit in the rain all day sometimes whilst i'm at work and never seen anything wrong before. Comparing the moisture in the air to the downpours it's been in, this makes me believe it's not water (for me at least). How could Ducati or any other manufacture a bike you couldn't get wet, it's unavoidable in this country!
