1199 Brake Bleeding

  1. Bleeding the brakes on an 1199 after changing the MC.

I know you have to bleed the MC but how many reservoirs do you need to put through each calliper before you start to get results?

    Cheers

  2. You shouldn't need much - I normally go about 5-6 good lever squeezes through each calliper after bleeding first at the MC. That's for a normal refresh of fluid. If your fluid is really old then it wouldn't hurt to put more through.

Main thing is make sure the MC is very well bled to avoid introducing any air bubbles into the system as you bleed.

One other thing worthwhile doing is cracking open the calliper bleed nipples and squeezing the Pistons right back in to get out all the old fluid. Then carry on bleeding as normal
