Brake calliper paint match

  1. I'm sure this has been asked before, but I would like to know if there is an exact paint match for the brembo brake callipers on my 1997 750ss.

I have searched the net and found a few options, but none of them look that close to me.

I don't want to pay 70 quid a calliper to have them stripped and repainted by Powerhouse Automotive | NOS Nitrous Oxide | Motorcycle Servicing in Sheffield | Motorbike Dyno in Yorkshire unless I have to. I can get them grit blasted, I just need the paint.

    Thanks very much,

    James

  2. I believe there's a company on the bay that do referb for £45 each including seals.

  3. Will they not clean up? You might be surprised if you try a toothbrush and some brake cleaner.........(you certainly will be if you try cleaning your teeth with them)

  4. They were not painters originally. They were anodised. So no paint is ever going to make them look new.

I stripped mine down then cleaned them up with Wonder Wheels, then replaced the bolts with new ones. My 1991 24k miles calipers look like new now.

  5. Sorry, started my 2nd sentence with "so". So sorry

  6. Do you mind linking me? The only thing I've see at that price is a rebuilding, not painting aswell

  7. I'll have another go at cleaning them up but I don't think they are going to get much better. I'm a detailer so I'm pretty good at cleaning lol

  8. Just had a look and its no longer on there, it was about 18 months ago I saw it, sorry. If you are cleaning them, be careful as some cleaners will take the anodise off, neat TFR will.
