Brake/clutch reservoir question..

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by Lee77uk, Feb 15, 2014.

  1. I'd like to replace the old black coffin reservoirs on my 600 monster dark, with some clear Brembo ones.. Just wondering which I need exactly? ie which outlet and what size?.

Demon tweaks seem to have what I'm after.. I assume the price doesn't include the mounting kit?

Brembo Brake Reservoirs - Demon Tweeks

    thanks

  2. try mode performance silverstone brembo people all the pipe reservoirs clips fittings you will need..

  3. Interesting question here. Will you use a 15cl for the clutch and a 30cl for the brake , as that's what Brembo show for their reservoirs.
Does this look right or aesthetically would you go 30/30.

    Just wondered.

  4. The coffin reservoirs on the older Brembo are integral to the master cylinder. If you want clear remote reservoirs, you'll need new master cylinders as well

  5. get some 999/749 ones then and convert them

  6. So not the straight forward job I thought?

  7. No.
As Andy says, you need master cylinders as well.
Once you have some, it's pretty straightforward.

  8. you pays yer money you gets ya goods….as i said a cheaper option might be to use 999 ones or 1098 ones….

  9. How'd you mean Andy?.. Im not too mechanically savvy

  10. Like this , std 848/1098/1198 would be easiest , a 999 would need the fluid reservoir removed if you don't want the coffin shape.

  11. change the whole cylinders and reservoirs for one of the above….

  12. Ahhhh I see.. Cool.. Good idea

  13. all would work….the 1098 ones cheaper than new rcs

the 996 ones from Luigi moto,….you could ring him and see if he would do a deal away from ebay…and post would be one package…...

    options

  14. Doesn't have to be Ducati , could be Aprilia for example, shop around you will eventually find a pair cheap enough.

  15. They look a bit manky , I wouldn't replace using old stuff like that , don't forget they are a crucial part of operating your bike.
I would go for the more modern 848 1098 type .

  16. ring luigi moto in the morning there must be a deal done there………..i bet he would fit them too…….where abouts are you….
