1200 Enduro Brake Disc Replacement

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Edward Cunliffe, Aug 30, 2023.

  1. Bike (1200 Enduro) nearly failed MOT on warped discs yesterday so I'm biting the bullet and have ordered some Brembo Series Oro replacements. Are the old ones a swine to get off? Will I need to use heat to kill the thread lock?

    TIA.

  2. The stock bolt heads are made of cheese, so make sure the bit is fully engaged. A bit of heat is a good idea, as is a longer bar. I would not be tempted to use a rattle gun. Andy

  3. When I did mine on the multi I got a couple of new driver bits .. then with the wheel flat on the floor made sure I'd got plenty of weight behind the wrench pressing down on the screws before trying to undo. I didn't have any probs.

I think problems start when the first attempt is half hearted with worn bits.

As Andy says heat will help ....

  4. Thank you, will use heat :upyeah:

  5. Next question, should I use new bolts? Could be a good excuse to put some better bolts in I suppose ...

  6. Yes but please use a material appropriate to the job. Previous suggestions have been made on here if search disc bolts. Andy

  7. No, simple job. Just watch a YT video on how to do it and service your calipers at the same time.
