Hi, done a search but can't find it, how much brake fluid do I need to change the rear brake on my 2014 mts please, want to upgrade to the motul 600 cheers Barry
Well, for what's it worth, Motul RBF600 Brake Fluid 500ml was enough to bleed the entire hydro system (brake / clutch).
I did the clutch and rear brake on mine with a 500ml bottle.....and I have 300ml left - What a waste!
Well, you say that, but I have done 1100 miles since then (long weekend trip to Normandy) and apart from the clutch fluid turning jet black, both are working fine, so I may not bother - I did do ACT's bleed nipple on the ABS unit mod, which is obviously helping?
I'm going to change the rear disk and pads to higher spec as well as the fluid, try and find a heat shield to fit, plus bleed nipple at abs unit, then I know that's as good as it gets.
I should patented this obvious idea (bleed nipples on ABS).... May be I'd have enough royalties to buy some new bolts that don't look like an old wheel barrow material after one ride in the rain.
It's al very well treating the problem but what we need is for Ducati to acknowledge there is a SERIOUS problem and instigate a recall and implement a permanent solution to prevent air ingress into the rear braking system. With the available hardware this should not be impossible.
Yes totally agree, a premium bike like Ducati should never have this problem in the first place, has any one contacted Ducati in Italy and asked them about it ? And yes Aircon why are the bolts not stainless ?
Hi Barry, Yes I've been in touch with aducati in Italy and basically told them it's a safety issue and shoyld be dealt with via a recall. I was just referred back to Ducati UK who then referred me to my dealership. A Europe-wide petition to Ducati Italy would be a good way of lobbying Ducati. As has been said by others this situation is unacceptable in a bike costing £13,000+. Lloyd
Pity Lloyd, I wonder if the US market gets the same treatment, amusing its there largest, I do post a sarcastic comment at every chance on there face book posts probably goes un noticed, frustrating as its seem there's nothing we can do
The US situation is unknown to me but I wish Ducati were more like Toyota in the States. They seem to recall cars for any and every safety related issue. I am astonished at Ducati's ambivalent attitude to this issue.
