748 Brake Fluid Dot 5

  1. I'm about to do the clutch and brake fluid and have been told DOT 5 is the way forward, can anyone tell me if DOT 5 is better just for longevity? I thought DOT 4 was the way to go but once again if people have experience of or can enlighten me further then that would be great.
     
  2. you probably want DOT 5.1

    DOT 5 cannot be mixed with any other DOT fluid.

    You probably won't notice any difference between 4 and 5.1 though it may prevent brake fade on track.

  3. As above, 4 or 5.1. Not 5.

  4. Dot 5 is also really hydrascopic (absorbers moisture) not ideal for road
