M900 1997 New brake fluid Calipers cleaned, pistons working as expected Brake pads , brembo road, 2 years old All good when put off the road 7 months ago The brake lever feels fine , Grazed brake pad against concrete to remove any containments Issue is braking performance, does not bite the disc and bring her to a halt prior winter storage, 7 months ago , after 30mins riding (city traffic) , I get brake fade Pull the lever , thinking stop stop stop , strange squeak after a few uses Video https://youtube.com/shorts/KLFxeuThiQU?feature=share Any ideas?
I'd suggest using sandpaper on the pads and discs rather than concrete, then bed them in again. Also make sure there's no grease or oil contamination.
Fade is often due to heat. How much brake fluid is in the res? I’ve seen it where it’s got a bit too much on the res and this causes the brakes to bind as everything expands
Good call , took a little bit out need to test To rule out calipers , I cleaned, caliper pistons on both calipers have zero corrosion, and do move in/ out I took the calipers off and left the pads in , pushed pistons in and tested all are working , pistons move in/ out ; no idea If this is sufficient to indicate calipers are all good or if it would highlight a partially seized piston, it is a 97 bike Brake pads cleaned with brake cleaner , I don't think they are the issue but I don't know if it is of concern, the marking on the rear of one pad from the piston So far , tested Discs, pads all cleaned with brake cleaner, pistons cleaned ,suspension forks serviced new oil, bushes -- issue still there Brake fluid was a tiny bit high but need to test , low probability it is the issue Any other tests I can do?
