If you really want a new breather valve, you can get one from MotoRapido........don't be fooled by all the others that are available online because the Ducati ones are a bit special which is why it will set you back about £20 I'm almost prepared to bet yours is OK though........the little arrow on it should point away from the tank and you should be able to blow through it easily in the opposite direction to the arrow...................you will find it difficult to blow in the same direction as the arrow..............if you can, there is a chance you will get petrol p*ssing out of the valve when the tank is full or under braking. While you have the breather valve off, get a length of strimmer cable and push it down the breather stub on the tank to make sure it is clear..........they block up with rust and paint flakes... You can get black fuel pipe online and most auto shops......... AL
hi as I don't have a breather valve I contacted motorapido today , I was quoted £54 pounds for the breather valve & £8-50p for the pipes. that is a little extreme even for ducati
My breather valve was about £20 when I bought one from Moto Rapido.........two years ago.......I reckon someone made a mistake.... However, I have still got a spare which I haven't tested.......I will test it this this weekend, so don't buy one yet.... For the pipe, check against these people http://www.fuelpumpsonline.co.uk/fuel--vacuum-hose-26-c.asp..... ....it may be too inflexible though.......but just some heat resistant tube will do.....it's not as though it needs to be particularly petrol resistant. You could try JHP for the valve.... AL
