Could someone please guide me as to which can be regarded as suitable/compatible Brembo rebuilt/repair kit for the front brake master cylinder for the standard (factory) Brembo front brakes fitted on the 998S? Seems that I am in need for one. Ducati never officially offered rebuilt/repair kits for its brake master cylinders on the 748/916/996/998 range claiming safety concerns, but preferred to sell the entire upper front brake system as a replacement part. This is still available by the dealers today for about 215 quid (with many of the gold anodised/galvanised small parts being replaced by inox). That policy changed in 2003 onwards on the 999 range, which has a rebuilt kit listed in its part manual (part no. 61041991A)
Would you (or anyone else) know how many mm the Brembo front brake master cylinder of the 998S in fact is (factory brake setup)? This would assist greatly in searching for an alternative solution.
I can’t remember mate but it has been done / mentioned on here a few times. I’ll see what I can dig up…
