Anyone had issues with the Bridgestone Battlax BT023 tyre? I have experienced some differences in cornering to left and right and after checking many things including chain & alignment, I think the problem may be down to the rear tyre getting badly squared off. I know they are a dual compound, but I didnt expect to generate such a non uniform profile. Your experiences with tyres much appreciated. My front is a brand new Bridgestone 021 and still looks fine (single compound)
Had a bt 023 and it was the best sport /touring tyre I ever used. Cant fault it at all If a tyre is badly squared off that is the time for me to change it...
How many miles do you get out of the Bt023 - I only ride my ST4 916 without a pillion & minimal luggage
I've got em on my TT600, but not done enough miles to comment on wear just yet- feel ok though. how many miles you done on your rear (ooh errr Mrs) that might have given this squared off feeling?
I run BT-023's on my Monster and previously on my Suzuki Sv, fab tyres tho they do seem to wear the centre out faster than i'd like on the rear! 8k miles so far on the front and it's down to 3mm but still nicely profiled, the rear wore out in the centre after a total of 6.3k. Still plenty on sides tho. I blame commuting and heavy throttle for that wearing the centre out. Replaced with another 023. Zero handling issues, great confidence and feedback from them, awesome in wet and in dry. Best tire i've ever had and i will stick with them or try the newer T30's. Rate them over the Michelin Pilot Road 2's on my Fazer for confidence/feedback when tires are cold, tho i will say the Michelins are refusing to wear at all even after 3k. Outright grip about the same.
Personally, I would suspect the 021 on the front. Bloody horrid tyres that don't seem to suit any bike. I've bought three bikes with 021's fitted, and had to change all of them well before they were worn out just cos they feel so horrible.
Cheers for all the comments guys - I am wondering whether my first single 600 mile trip over to France on the highways may be to blame for rumming the tyre off in the center. The tyre was on the bike when I brought it so im not sure how many miles its done in total. I have put about 2000 miles on it since. I guess now im due for a change.
