Bridgestone Bt016 Or Michelin Power Pilot 2ct On 750ss?

  1. Looking to replace the 20 year old Dunlops (yup, 20 year old!)on my recently acquired 750ss. The Michelins get good reviews but local place recommended the BT016s. The bike will cover minimal miles, will not be ridden in the winter, will only see the rain if the forecasters get it wrong. But it will be ridden hard on a good day.

Does anyone have any experience of either tyre on a SuperSport? Or any other recommendations?

  2. Had 2ct's on a KTM 990 superduke, were pretty good, but quite slow steering I think, but was a few years ago. Really didn't like BT016, they used to be OE fitment on GSXR's, even when bought as a proper tyre rather than OE, they weren't much better. I know tyres are very much personal taste, but 016's are sh1t IMO.

  4. All depends on what brand you like riding on, I have the Michies on my 900 and have pretty
much the same usage as you and very happy with them.

  5. I don’t have a particular brand preference (except I won’t fit Contis after an awful set on a GSXR), I find some tyres just suit some bikes better. As the bike has 29 year old Dunlops on I don’t have anything to compare to at the moment.

  6. I really rate the Michelin Power Pilot 2ct for the supersports.
Onto probably my 6th set by now. (900ss)
Perfect tyre for this bike and power output.
They are not slow steering, set up the bike correctly and they are nimble and confident.:upyeah:

  7. Ok then, from my experience with the 2ct's you won't be disappointed with them and
as above I think they suit the ss.

I only have Bridgestones on one of mine, just fitted actually but they are on a vintage
bike (BT46's) so can't compare, happy with them though.
