Hi! Has anyone tried Bridgestone V02 slicks on a 959 or a 899? Sizes seem odd 120/600 and 200/655 but if you look at the dimension they aren't that different from Pirelli Supercorsa SC's. And Bridgestone say they are ok on 5.5 rim. Pirelli Supercorsa SC Front 120/70, diameter: 600mm, width: 119mm Rear 180/60, diameter: 656mm, width: 193mm Bridgestone V02 Front 120/600, diameter: 603mm, width: 117mm Rear 200/655, diameter: 655mm, width: 194mm Does the swingarm have enough clearance? Can you fit a tire warmer there also? Thanks!
Hi, The 600 and 655 does refer to the total height/diameter of the tyre, reason is different heights equals different profiles and different handling characteristics. I would check, 1, DOT code on the sidewalk to make sure they are not too old, a slick over a couple of years old will have started to deteriorate. 2, double check the rim diameter as they could be 16.5" like a lot of race bike tyres were, not the usual road bike 17". I'm unable to comment on the clearance as I don't know the bike very well and wouldn't want to be "bloke on the internet said it would fit" I worked for Bridgestone for ten years on technical but the race stuff was always done from Japan. Cheers, Kirk
