I have broken the plastic lower bracket that holds the two fairing halves together. I'm planning to reattach the broken bit, with super glue, and then strengthen with small strips of fibre glass. It doesnt take a lot of stress so i'm hoping that'll do it. Anyone heard of any other simple solutions, such a replacement bracket, that can be purchased, and attached to the fairing ? thanks Simon.
I had the same but mine was missing, I made a pattern/cast out of play-doh (because it was handy) from the other tab then made a new tab and attached with Q-Bond. If it ever fails i'll try the same again with this stuff: Plastic & Acrylic Repair Kit - Plastex Standard Repair Kit - plumbing bath pool | eBay
Thanks for that. That plastic+acrylic repair looks good stuff , expensive - but if it does what it say's then i could re-mould the bit that's broken. I'll give it a go.
This stuff is miraculous: Q Bond QB2 Ultra Strong Adhesive Filler Q-Bond Black And Grey Powder Kit FAST!!! | eBay
Yes, that was my first thought, easy to shape. Then i saw these instant plastics, maybe i'll use a bit of both. Thanks.
