Firstly just wanted to say thank you to all the guys and girls on here who gave me very sound advice over the last month or so, it is surely appreciated and in fact far more helpful than any dealer has been in my 17yrs of riding. Saying that , for all those newbies or lucky folk with no sprag issues I have attached a pic of the mess I was greeted with when I cracked the flywheel apart this evening. Some times it's just handy to see what your looking for as my flywheel assembly did not look too shabby at first glance . Looks are however deceiving ! Let the rebuild begin! Once again , many thanks for the help and advice , I hope that my skills improve and can return the favour one day very soon . Andy
Perhaps you could detail your rebuild, preferably with pics? Experts tend to miss out steps that appear obvious to them, so an amateur perspective can be really valuable.
I will endeavour to post up some pics this week. There isn't a vast amount of stuff to do to be honest! It's more the tooling required and sheer brute force to get the nut off the crank. I'll sort a build thread out sharpish !
Word of caution. With all the sprag issues I had last year, and all the prolonged starting up to its demise, the throttle position sensor then went, with another bill on the end of it...
Don't think he was saying the Sprag took the TPS out. Just that it was another fault adding to his woes.
Just goes to show how important it is to have a healthy battery and starting circuit. Not just for instant starting but for a healthy sprag...
