This year's bike day at Brooklands is on 2 July. Last year's saw an unprecedented and surprisingly large turnout of Ducatis, in addition to usual hordes of vintage and classic machines of every conceivable marque. I am planning to go on my Hailwood Replica again. Health and weather permitting, obviously.
Indeed. Every summer weekend has multiple events going on in different places. Aren't we lucky to have a choice?
it does put me off if i'm bringing a vehicle that adds to the appeal of the event. I appreciate staff have to be in place security, safety, ticket collection but for the numbers attending £23 is extortionate if you've brought a "contributing object".
I can see your point Chris but at least you get the OAP discount, I’d have to pay £48 for my youthfulness and the youngling I’d have in tow plus the fuel and food. It’s still the 6 hour round trip that puts me off though, as Pete has stated you’re so fortunate to have so much on your ‘doorstep’ Guess it’ll be a day in Wales instead.
I am guessing that Brooklands is struggling to balance its budget, and is being forced to ramp up prices to postpone bankruptcy.
Hi all, so I'm helping organise the DOC GB stand at Brooklands like last year, to clarify, there were no free display tickets last year (I imagine due to the reasons folks have considered above) but I have applied for a set of discounted tickets (to go to club members and those displaying). I, like you, think the increase in the price is due recouping COVID losses, although with a discount at about 20 quid for a day out, it's not the worst hike in prices I've seen due to that... Last year over the day there were over 100 Dukes, so if you do go (and want to show your bike, let me know), it would be great to see you...
MHR V5 not back from DVLA with “historic” status so cannot unsorn her. So will have to turn up on this…..
Hi John, I don't need a discounted ticket as I am a member at brook lands but do I need a "pass" so I can display the bike at our stand? (Bayliss v2)?
