Out with the old showdown….in the with new https://www.britishsuperbike.com/ne...khqR0NzYl_UbBmudpSDvm_mFo16RWMR3rZtQYLm0Zayag For those not bothered to read, normal races are having their points system changed so winner max 18 points, then in the last three rounds, two will have 25 pints, last will be 30 points (obvs all the ones below are adjusted too) Champion is simply the one with the most pouts, as is team/manufacturer title
FFS, I've lost interest/track of whats going on in the duration of your post. Who thinks this shit up and what is wrong with a standard points format season long and best man wins?
So, as I see it: Whoever can manage two races pissed then gets 30 points. Champion is the person who kisses the most? Novel.
Think they’re just trying to avoid a repeat of this season. This way makes it harder for riders to get a huge lead in the points. Kind of makes sense to me (if that’s what you think made the season full of course).
Can anyone be bothered to calc how the last few years BSB championships would have played out with the different scoring rules? I.e. comparing standard ACU race scoring, current podium points approach, and the new rules just announced? Interested if it makes different winners from the same championships (but not interested enough to do the work )
My only 'issue' with it, is that I think you'll see a lot of riders not willing to make a lunge on the last lap for the place ahead as the gap is only a couple of points, crashing out of a podium will actually hurt you more now, because if you crashed say out of 2nd before but then came back and won the next race and the winner comes 3, you could have got 9 of those points back straight away, you can't now, basically if you crash you are done for the season.
So the ‘Showdown’ title has been retained for the final 3 rounds but if I have read the announcement correctly, the showdown will no longer be a top 8 competition ? Andy
They are still calling it a showdown as he points are different. But person with most points thru the whole season is champ. Where did they get that idea?
A friend of mine who's Son raced in 600 Superstock in BSB a good few years ago hasn't got a good word for him.
