Just catching up. Watching second race. What a cracker!! Tight. Smoking rear tyres at 170 mph when flat on the side. Late brakes and block passes with fast passes. Watch it! Real edge of seat stuff!
Yeah, the racing was fantastic. People are saying it's an R1 cup but it's been a Ducati cup and a Kawasaki cup at times, Haslam/Dixon for example did all the winning on Kawasaki's, Shakey etc, but I do think there will be another team on yamaha next year at this rate as it seems to be the most usuable, and tbh I own one that I use for trackdays and I can see why the bike is successful. Sykes showing some improvement at the weekend, just like WSBK though he can't make a tyre last more than 5 laps. Brookes, shocking, tbh it's so bad that if I were birdy I would just put a young rookie on the bike just to at least get some screen time in the form of new rider buzz, because currently the sponsors aren't even getting their money worth as he's never on screen.
Whilst having a one-make podium could be construed as tiring, like you say, it happened with other makes so why not. The rest of the field (for the most part) seem to be struggling. I’m very surprised Birdy hasn’t acted by now.
I would love to see someone like Chrissy Rouse given a chance on it. I know Paul Bird is giving him some personal sponsorship this year
It’s a fair point and psychology deffo comes into elite sport. Given where all 3 Ducatis are at the moment, it’s probably fairer to say the bike is taking some getting sorted. That said, Josh didn’t have a great season last year, perhaps he needs a new ride. I wouldn’t mind betting PBM will give him the opportunity to find one but perhaps Birdy will be patient and wait.
