Bst Carbon Wheel Pricing

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by KA77, Jun 3, 2022.

  1. I have a set of BST carbon wheels that came with the V4 Pani, I believe they where made to fit 1098/1198 era machine. However, the previous owner of these had spacers made (by Brembo/Marchesini I believe) so they now fit the 1199, 1299, V4 etc.

I have had some rancid luck with wheels getting damaged by over zealous tyre technicians in the past and don’t want to risk getting these damaged, so thought I would offer them for sale. Could someone give me a steer on a price point please? There’s not a lot around to compare to, so I thought someone on here may have an idea?

    The discs would be removed.

    Cheers

  2. I've got these on my v4s. And also swapped them over from my 1098R. I've had them ages now and must say they've served me very well. I stopped getting precious about some time ago.

They do strong money in top condition. I think I paid £2700 (new) for mine. But that was years ago.

  3. A quick look on eBay and starting bid prices for a pair of bare wheels is £1750 and one pair is £1800 or best offer. A pair new is about £2800. Andy

  4. Are these Ducati fitment Andy? I can’t see any?

  5. Every time I look at them I can’t help but notice the very fragile looking rim on the rear wheel! Its good to know yours have stood the rest of time.

  6. Fitment seems to be fairly unimportant for 2nd hand values. The only Ducati specific wheels I found were less than a year old, the latest design and came with discs so are not IMO, a fair price comparison (and they are IMO, over priced at over £3k). Andy

  7. Price possibly reflects the current lack of availability for new ones?

  8. off-topic @KA77 but found this interesting recently and might appeal to you also:-

  10. I had a pair of Dymag carbons on my 999S a few years ago and sold them to a fellow forum member for a grand (IIRC), BST's are priced a bit higher - I'm with Bradders, you should get £1500 > £1800 for em.

  11. I agree with above. £1.8K seems an ok price for the older style and about £2.2 to £2.5K for the later style. Bought the later style off HPS for £3.1K. Ordered Late on in December and arrived about 10 weeks later. I believe waiting times are getting worse so a good time to sell. :upyeah:

  12. eBay starting prices are meaningless, so are offer prices. The only true price point is an auction sale completion.

I had two bids for mine a week ago (discs, carrier, sprocket & spacers incl) and settled @ £1550.00

  13. Yes, it’s the waiting times for new BSTs that’s the killer, mine took just over 3 months to be delivered, this needs to be taken into account.
