  1. I'd just about finished cleaning the bike and was wheeling it backwards down a slope when I slipped and we had a tank/trailer interface. This ain't going to be cheap

  2. Ouch, hopefully a 2nd hand one will crop up at a reasonable price, you are lucky if that is the extent of the damage. (unlucky really, but you know what i mean)

I've done similar and its not a good feeling, but its repairable.

  3. I once wheeled mine backwards down a kerb, having foolishly left the side-stand down. When the rear wheel went down the kerb, the stand pushed the bike over to the right so I couldn't hold it, luckily falling into a pile of dirt and leaves so it did little damage. That was at the Hotel Borgo, Bologna.

  4. Plastic repairer should be able to fix that. Or try Ducati Omaha for replacement.

  5. I've got a pretty decent guy only 15 minutes away from home so he can do something with it over winter. It's only a bit of plastic and I'm just as annoyed that I ripped a pair of jeans on the trailer trying to save the bike but it still connected with the corner hard enough to punch a hole through the panel.

I can't find any other damage so I've just wheeled it back in the garage and grabbed a beer

  7. I've avoided the urge to indulge in comfort spending and settled for a few bottles of Bombardier and a couple of pork chops on the bbq. A tube of superglue was found and I had a good long look at whether or not I could put Humpty Dumpty back together again but I've decided to just ignore it for a while and maybe use the mutley for my annual pilgrimage to the Elefant Rally now that it's pre-disastered.

  8. Ar know that feeling, old 848 (not one I just sold) came back from trackday, unloading alone, decided the bucket upside down would be strong enough as prop for front..it wasn't. Snap, crash, wallop and managed to catch it from its 2' elevated position but not long enough. Mirror, headlight arm, head fairing, scuffs on the seat, and a bloke smacking himself with an old whip for an hour

  9. Years ago I agreed a trade in price at a dealer for my old 748, rode it home and put it in the garage with no intention of taking it out until the following Saturday when it was being dropped off. That part of the plan worked really well until I knocked it getting my pushbike out of the garage and the side stand popped up dumping it on its side.

The top half of the fairing and seat unit were cracked, the lower half of the fairing and mirror were badly scuffed and I'd got 5 days to get them fixed and back on the bike in the hope that the dealer wouldn't notice. The £200 it cost to repair was money well spent because when I dropped it off they took it in the workshop to give it a good looking over and didn't spot any of the damage :upyeah:

  10. This.
