I have had a couple of people ask about the above dash Nav holder The navholder mount is only available from Germany but ships wordlwide Navihalter Motorrad, Ducati Multistrada 1200 - Artikeldetailansicht - Online-Shop Thanks to Humpo from US site for the easy fitting instructions I have listed here 1. Mount sat nav bracket on mount 2. Remove screen 3. Mount bracket with bolts facing down to windscreen slider bracket, nut lock bolts 4. Run cable over the back of mount, down to the left side of the bike. 5. Remove the black cover next to the wing on left side of the bike. 6. You will see a white plug with two wires going no where. This is your GPS power. Test for + - and solder connections. 7. Test and replace side panel. 8. Check angle and hight of unit. There is 3 different mounting holes. I like the centre one. 9. Replace screen. AndyW has some great info here Ducati Multistrada 1200 - MTS1200.info redirect
Thanks Brian, I think I need to add that one to the ever growing list! Motorcycle Info Pages - Misc MTS1200 Articles > MTS1200 GPS / SatNav
+1 - puts the Zumo exactly where I want it with clear view of the clocks too. Good quality & IMHO worth the bit extra price wise.
The screen bracket is not very meaty, what is it like with a sat nav on it, does it bounce about or is it secure ? There were a few on ebay when i got multi, but missed out on both, and had enough RAM bits to sort
The web site is in German I used google chrome translator and apart from a cockup on my part it worked quite well.
Got one myself, works great be careful with the sat nav wire on the loom though, mine was/is dead probably a fuse I couldn't be bothered trying to fix it was in a hurry so just hardwired to the battery
Have a look at fuse (2) If you decide to stay with a direct feed from the battery I'd pop a relay in line somewhere near the battery triggered by a switched live so that the GPS cradle doesn't stay live permanently ;-)
Go to the top of the class Bob......good spot! Ducati quality control strikes again, the fuses in slots (2) and (6) are the wrong ratings! - 7.5A instead of 10A an error that will cause no harm but a 30A fuse instead of 7.5A in slot (6)!! :-O Labeling agrees with another source: ....which also corresponds with the key sticker inside the fuse panel covers on my bike.......which has the right fuses in the correct slots:
Does anyone know if this holder will be compatible with the new Garmin Zumo 350LM? https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=135&pID=107979
The Garmin mount for the 350 has the same 4 holes in a rectangle mounting system as that of the 660 so should bolt right in. It's the same on my old 2610 so I'd say it's unlikely that Garmin have changed the spacing on this one. Why not ring a dealer and ask them for the measurements or to compare it to a 660 to be 100% certain..... Even if it's a bit off, 2 minutes with a small drill and it would definitely fit!
StickyWicket - waht screen is that you have in the original post? I think this is a neat solution for the Zumo, and would buy one if it isn't going to leave the satnav higher than my shorty MRA screen...
A more useful question for me to have asked would actually have been this; I have 90mm (3 1/2 inches) of clearance between the top of my screen bracket and the top lip of the shorty screen. Will a Zumo 660 mounted with this bracket fit right, or will the top of the Zumo end up being higher than the screen. Anyone able to answer this one for me please?
I have the short carbon screen by Aviacompositi and that sits about 100mm above the screen bracket and my Zumo is hidden by the screen.I have the Touratech locking mount fixed to the Navihalter which takes it higher so you should be ok. Hope this helps.
If I put my PP screen to lowest position Zumo 660 does sit slightly higher but in top position covers just nicely IMO.
I was one of the people who asked about the Navholder ,, thanks again for the advice mate and the pictures were great too. I have just received mine from Germany and thought I would endorse the company selling them(no connection). I had a little troouble ordering on line so in response to an e mail query the guy (Mike) went out of his way to help. Not fitted yet but again you get what appear to be simple instructions.Hopefully the product will be as good as the service:smile:
