i was planning on doing level one next summer, but im now tempted to bite the bullet and do it at Almeria purely because of the unpredicable british weather.\ please write up a thread and let us have a review of your experience. twist of the wrist 2 is the best book ive ever read on cornering techniques and im very interested to hear from a student of the course.
Like the idea of it, will prob wait and see what the bastard weather is doing and take my chances on availability.
Would highly recommend doing CSS at somewhere 'bigger' than the Silverstone Stowe circuit, especially if you are on an 1198. Rockingham is good.
Been told by loads that the wet is actually the best time to do it. Throttle control and slower technique really helps and the weather dictates it
I've done it in both the torrential wet and also sunny dry conditions, and the restriction of the use of brakes during L1-2 will slow things down regardless. You are learning so much about vision during L1/2 that dry conditions help you get the most out of it. However, L3 in the wet is great as the focus is on body movement, which you will want to accentuate when conditions are wet in order to make progress. I did L3 in torrential conditions at Silverstone National circuit a couple years ago, and going around Stowe corner at the end of the Hangar straight with the front and rear sliding on the off camber apex was an enlightening experience!
Some good comments there guys, I will be sure to post up my experience of L1.....very much looking forward to it....
