Camcoat Warrington/ Ceramic Exhausts

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by alexevo, Jul 2, 2014.

  1. Hey!
Has anyone on here used camcoat Warrington? If so how did they get on?
Also has anyone had their exhausts painted in the Turbo X or black satin paint on here (which is what camcoat use) and how has it been since you've had it done?
And lastly I can buy some 'techline' black satin paint and get a professional sprayer friend to do it for me or should I got down the camcoat route?

  2. Lots on here recommend them. So they must be doing something right. I want to get my headers etc coated but that will wait until winter. I'd also like advice on whether or not to coat inside and outside and what is the best finish for my headers. Dont really want black myself and maybe the chrome finish might be better. Also did people do their cans as well.

  3. Yup Satin black with the TLHB internal coat on a 1098 standard exhaust with exhaust valve, although I now have the valve mechanism disabled. It worked for me & I was pleased with the results. Also easy to deal with.

I posted this up on another thread but here is an idea of what it looks like. Been on a good few years now and all is good, although I only use the bike in the summer and don't do huge mileages.

  6. Hmm. Black looks gooooood....

  7. the black does look good.

  8. How much did it cost - thinking about getting the front section of my RSV4 done...it runs so hot it melted the shock boot next to it....I never realized how hot it got...

  9. just phoned them....2 - 3 week turnaround....not too bad as its all over the floor waiting for Italians to get out of bed and send the parts....

  10. and you don't have to clean em.

  11. Quick wash just like any other part of the bike. Works for me

I also got the small heat shield near the rear cylinder done at the same time as it was starting to "blue" with the standard finish. Its all been good so far.

The exhaust still is freakin hot even with the coatings though. My R&G Shock tube is pretty scorched and will probably need replacing soon. That said without it I reckon I'd have had to do it already.

  12. Like it even more. Cermachrome might suit me better but i really like the Black. Fuck it, i'm going black.

  13. I had the Cermachrome on a Guzzi and went to black. The Cermachrome IMHO is not nearly as good as a polished pipe. It gives a sort of shiny look but with a tinge of grey. Let me see if I have a pic somewhere

    Ahh Here

  14. yeah its not quite right is it......Shame

  15. I'm a sucker for a MG. Love em. Never owned one but I very nearly bought a v50 as my 1st real bike after I sold my Lambretta. Instead I bought a GS750DB. Ive always also loved Suzuki's. The GS was the right price as it had ape hangers, a king n queen seat and a huge polaris fairing. Needless to say i reverted it to OEM. Fucking apehangers. My 1st ride of a proper big bike after scoots was this. Was like riding a wheel barrow.

  16. RSV4 pipe in the post today - see what happens....my main reason is to keep the heat (or as much of it as possible) off the rear shock. Last year I fitted a shock boot not really realizing how hot it got - went to the TT, drove around (as yer do) for the 4-5 days we were there...got home, chucked it in the garage to clean at the following weekend - at which when I looked at the rear shock one side of it had literally burnt away....

  17. Let us know how it goes.... I'm hoping to get my exhaust off this weekend then posted to them next week. Which company did you use to sent the pipes out of interest?

  18. TNT overnight - but I winged it through work....stuck the Receptionist on our unmetered proxy so she can go web surfing for the day!!

Ill take some photos when it comes back to show the finish.....cant say when itll be all back together as the eta for my remaining rocker cover for the RSV is still 2 weeks away...
