It's going to be hot on our trip in July to Croatia so I decided to invest in a drink thingy that I can share with the missus as she will be pillion.
I do the very same, great when you need your “whistle wetting” not sur my missus would approve of the brand though
Bag is nearly irrelevant, however the quality of the hydration pack is very important. Some hydration bags can develop fungi within days some are good for 1-2 weeks. Keep it in a freezer when not in use...also wrapping some alu foil around helps to keep it cool whilst on the bike.
I use to use the baby bottle sterilisation kits to keep the inside of the bladder pack clean. You can use white vinegar but that takes just a few more rinses
Thanks, another good tip. I guess the thing to do is clean it straight away after each use and don't let it sit allowing germs to grow.
I had the Kriega insert in my R15. It kept nice and cool in the Italian sun. The only part that was nasty and warm was the water that was currently in the first inch of the tube (the rest was shielded). I binned it after letting it get manky once. Will buy a new one now you’ve reminded me
Clean them out with Miltons sterilising fluid as used on baby bottles. https://www.milton-tm.com/en/consumer/products/sterilising-fluid
Milton is the trade name for sodium hypochlorite solution: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sodium_hypochlorite
