I'm thinking of buying a 21yrs old Citroen 2ltr diesel camper van, with 41k miles on the clock it's a Royale model if that's any help with a bunk over cab. Anybody have any idea roughly what it's worth, mot runs out on the 14th June, and what should I look out for. Cheers, Broke.
No idea about that one, but if it’s any help there’s a guy on UKGSERs selling a Merc Autotrail Motorhome, £30k and 30,000 miles
I know often when you think Citroen you should also look peugeot I'm guessing it's something like this? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PEUGEOT-...050719?hash=item213f5e135f:g:zC0AAOSwIs5a~Bjc https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PEUGEOT-...801863?hash=item4d74aa5587:g:Os0AAOSwKp1asSRG
mrk 1 ducato essentially. parts still readily available, a v,good van. gearbox syncro issue but not an overly expensive fix. corrosion not the worst with these van but bear in mind any welding to the floor can involve a major strip out due to gas and electrics, depending on condition and servicing of gas and electrics, somewhere between 5k and 12k
Yes very similar noobie, but it does have an mot until May 2019, their asking £8,500 for it, not sure if this is strong or not ?
Sounds high to me, but then I think the world has gone mad for bikes a d campers and their prices. Chances are tho, you can buy, run two seasons then sell for similar money.
being exe fiat tech and living in the land of the camper van, seems v,fair to me. but, i aint seen it
Did you run the reg number through the dvla mot history machine to see if it had any advisories https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-history
Thanks noobie, just checked. It says passed on the 15th May, but with rust on brake ferrules, and immediately below that it says failed on the 15th May with rust on brake ferrules ?
most camper vans are low millage. not all are compatible with fitting tow bars just in case you are thinking of taking a bike with you.
Is it a good idea buying a diesel at the moment? In a couple of years you will have to give it away.... although they might have a scrappage scheme and you could do OK out of it Decisions... decisions !
