It’s on my 1000ss DU010 shock and it’s too hard. I’ve searched online for a clue but not much info available in relation to this reference number.

Try race tech site, they may have the S version too, but here is a 2004 DS version https://racetech.com/ProductSearch/12/Ducati/Multistrada 1000DS/2004 Go back to product search step in url, choose you bike from there. Once in the standard screen, you can choose to customise for your weight and riding style and it should (if they have the data) tell you what spring is most likely suitable.
it's a progressive rate spring many folk who race DesmoDue change to a linear rate spring you could send Mark hammond at mh racing in Wiltshire an email . he will tell you definitively what that spring is and your options for changes
