I've been dreaming of an aluminium subframe for my Superleggera project but learned that no one makes them for these bikes. Spondon made them (or one?) a long time ago (link) but when I contacted them I barely got a reply and the end result was that they are no longer in business. I had an aluminium subframe by DM Telai in Italy on my Hypermotard and it was great quality. I contacted them a while back and got a reply immediately saying they can make a quote if I ship them my spare subframe + tail/undertail. I shipped them a couple of weeks ago and got a quote today. I'm now looking for people who would be interested in getting an aluminium 7020 subframe for their 848/1098. This group buy will happen only with a minimum of ten (10) orders. The subframe will be offered for racing use only, obviously not with a passenger and it will not have provisions for the passenger footrests. The right hand side will have two mounting holes for the silencer bracket - some brackets have three holes but they are perfectly fine with two screws only. The expected weight saving will be around 2kg. Combine it with a LiFePO4 battery and you are dropping 5kg from the tail. The frames will be supplied in raw aluminium. Price for each for a batch of 10 pieces will be 655€ + VAT (25.5%) + delivery cost. The cost will be slightly lower with more than 10 orders (á 593€ + VAT + delivery for 15pcs, for example). The cost for manufacturing consists of a starting fee of 1550€ (including the jig etc) plus 490€/piece for the subframes. If you are seriously interested, leave a message below.
