any trimmers on here? been quoted 2k to re trim the car ( labour alone) plus the cost of material . sound horrific? or not?
Compared to what some people spend on their bikes, maybe not so bad. What car and where are you in london. Their was or is a great trimmer in Oxted called Oxted vehicle trimming. Maybe shop about for quotes. u
Old Jag. I am not far from oxted, will give them a bell. Want to keep it local thou, so I can keep an eye on the job. Material will cost me £3350 to the total for re-trim is over £5k which I didn’t expect!
yesterday morning with no experience, decent tools and no skill stripped most of the car interior out in 2.5 hours. local trimmer told me it will take them day and a half just to strip the car! will finish it off next weekend . will be trimming car myself, doesn't look all that difficult at all! I think like with the most professions people make up how tricky it is and charging loads just cos they can .
Welldone you,i agree with you on this one regarding the labour time,i restored my RS2000 back in 1996 but i did have vinyl man on the roof replacement,see my one in random pictures posted the other day,cheers
I trimmed the seats in my car myself in leather (also made the seats)... just take your time to plan it all first, how th folds go, were you want foam etc etc. Here are my seats, not perfect but pretty good for a first ever attempt at trimming
No, the Mrs was in the background... I actually trimmed the main tub of the car in the lounge (mainly roof), bought the entire centre section of the car in and we did it together
