I've got a '97 900SS with carb heaters. A bit of a dumb question I know, but what position should the lever be in for "off". After a brisk motorway journey yesterday and then a stop/start trundle through town the motor started to misfire at low revs and I'm wondering whether the heaters are on which might cause fuelling issues.
Tap pointing forward is OFF; tap pointing across the engine is ON.... Got the same thing on my 97 750.... AL
Thanks Al, so carb heater was on. Forgot to say I was on my way back from the Bristol Italian Auto Festival, Ducatis everywhere!
If you can see the tap block itself, it is fairly easy to spot the direction of the tap lever is parallel to the flow direction.... AL
