Hi all, I recently picked up a 999S in lovely condition. Can't wait to get out on it. I can't afford a Termignoni system right now but love the look of the carbon rear end. So my question: Do carbon exhaust heat shields like this really fit and has anyone here had experience of them and any images of it fitted? Thanks, Ben
Ducati did a carbon cover for the stock system. The outlet holes are a lot smaller than the ones for the termi system. Would probably look daft if you fitted a termi one with stock cans.
I put a genuine Termi cover on my stock exhaust. I don't have that bike anymore so can't look but I never really noticed the holes being a lot bigger. There were no issues with fitting and it looked ok. See what you think:
one on the left is my 749 and that has the exact cover with standerd exahust one on right is my xerox with the factory oe cover and the termi race exahust so you can see the holes for the 2 type of exhaust the carbonmoto one does not look to much different to a oe one when together you do notice a bit of difference but nothing to moan about
I think I have one in the loft amongst my spare parts that I used to use on my stock system before I bought a Termi several years ago. I'll take a look if your after one at a sensible second hand price? Let me know.
I bought one of these from Carbonmoto when I had the standard rear box on my 749 and the fit and quality is spot on. They do next day free delivery too. I'll be honest it's even better than the Termi one which I have now ! I finished mine off with some heat resistant Termi stickers from ctmoto.
