What are peoples thoughts on Kevlar jeans? Seen this video from Bull-it Jeans. http://bit.ly/13Nmfed They look impressive, but not sure how often I will get dragged behind a bike lol. Seriously, has anyone had an off wearing them?
Carbon reinforced jeans would I think be a bit a stiff. I have a pair of Kevlar reinforced Dragin Jeans which I had a low speed off in. The lack of padding was maybe an issue but they held up well. Mark
I have a pair or two of Draggin jeans. Good kit and thankfully not crash tested to date. That said, I really believe there's a market for fully engineered, fully armoured, carbon/Kevlar jeans. Like leathers except jeans with 2013 technology. Thoughts?
Just think they would be a godsent for my commute. Save me having to change into jeans when I get to work. Also notice Bull-it do zip off jeans. I assume they have tested the zips for bursting etc
Carbon has virtually no abrasion resistance, so would be useless in jeans? Kevlar is what you want as it has incredible abrasion resistance.
I have a set of dragon jeans and really rate them. Recommend you buy them one size up though as I bought a 34" thinking they'd be ok but they're tight as feck. Normally a 34" is pretty baggy on me.
I've got a pair of Maple jeans... not exactly cheap but they look great, quality is also great. Lots of kevlar lining and they come with removable armour for hips and knees.
I have a pair of Berik kevlar jeans with ce approved armour in the knees and hips, the wife was wearing a pair of the same jeans when we had an off at 50ish, she bounced rolled and slid on the tarmac and there wasn't a mark on her legs afterards.
I have a pair of Sartso kevlar jeans, I really like them especially as they look very normal away from the bike, that said if I'm out purely for a ride I still wear leather. Sartso - Current Range
Really suggest you try these on first as there are Soooooo many in the range. Only yesterday I tried some on. 34 of one design was perfect 36 of another wouldn't fasten and the next gen jeans are kinda stretch denim. Next generation are bloody expensive at over £200
