Amazing to think that it has taken 5 years for someone to go around the track faster than Casey Stoner in 2008. When you think of 5 years of work and development... Shows that either the Ducati was already a pretty mean machine, or that Stoner was just a genius. Or perhaps both. 5 years of development is massive. Have things really improved so little in that time?
It was a very impressive lap, half a second quicker than Cal, who is seriously starting to ruffle some feathers. I still say he's the rider for the Ducati, no-one else out there really cuts it, I hope Ducati make a serious play for him. Although in all honesty I think Yamaha would be daft not to up the ante for him - bugger!
I think it is a huge mistake to presume because cal is doing well on a tec 3 he will do even better on a factory yammy. so many times over the years this has happened and a rider has progressed onto a factory ride from a privateer or satellite for the challenge not to materialise. cal has obviously found a sweet spot with the tec 3 but I wouldn't take it as a given he be even better on a factory bike
Cal deserves his credit IMO and is more than worthy of the praise. you have to bare in mind he's still a relative new comer to that particular field but is gradually believing in himself more and more, the results will come.
I'll rout for Cal today to get in front of JL and VR and end first! after Lorenzo taking DP out on the last lap whilst battling for 2 and 3... wit MM coming in second... just so the chamionship get bunched up again at the front
