Caution re sportsbikeshop.co.uk

  1. Just thought I'd give a heads up.

    I tried to order an Aria RX-7GP yesterday, the website showed 24-48 hours delivery, so as they have a 0% finance offer I thought I might as well use their money.

    Phoned sportsbikeshop to check there was "actual" stock, which was confirmed, filled in the finance agreement which was approved, and I paid the rest of the deposit.

    60 minutes later, an email advising 16 week delivery !!!!!!!

    Phoned them, "oh we were just taking pre orders" yea right, why did you say you had stock and so did your website? "err, well the website says 16 weeks now...." Great

    So i now have a credit check against me, which i hate, for no reason !

    Minor rant over.

  4. Hmm, that's pretty lame!..... did they cancel the order? why the hell does it take 16 weeks to get a lid? I worked in the trade and most AGV Rossi Replica paint jobs aren't even in the market as long as 16 weeks before yet another one is released! cha ching!

  5. I phoned the finance company to see if I could transfer the agreement to another dealer that they use but, as I thought, they couldn't.

    I phoned whyarai.co.uk and they confirmed 16 weeks ! so I have just cancelled with sportsbike, not so much as a "sorry about that".

  7. Poor show by the shop to be honest. If they'd been clearer with the stock situation, they may still have got your business. Shame

    V good price BTW, but gearchange seem to better their online prices if you buzz them, not saying they can match £400 though !

  13. Ive bought my last 3 arai from Helmet City. All posted. Had I noted that they are 5 minutes from me I may have bought it over the counter. :)

    My last one being a nice Doohan TT. Must remember to eBay my old Mamola gprx.
