Evening. My centre stand makes a right good clang when I push the bike off it. Should there be a rubber bung or something in this hole on the cat? Cheers
Thank you. Yeah there’s a thin rubber grommet on the stand itself. just looks like that bracket and hole should have a purpose
Doesnt look like there is anything on the schematics https://www.bike-parts-ducati.com/d...-1260-S-Touring/EXHAUST-SYSTEM/401/2300/0/401
^ What he said. I found one laying about and added it to the stand to do away with that hammering on the pipe.
Try putting the bike on the side stand and pulling the main stand away on it's spring and letting go to see what's hitting what first. Something maybe misaligned. Also if your chain is too slack that can get noisy.
Using a centre stand bump stop to block pipework whilst restoring a petrol tank. Necessity is the mother of invention Andy
Ive had it up up on the sky lift and all seemed correct apart from the empty bracket on the cat. I’ll try the door stop route I think, though don’t want it pushed down too much.
As a side effect, when I put a door stop on the stand it lowered the stand a little, so that my left heel didn't hit the stand when balls of feet on pegs. And not so low that it grounded on left handers. Might touch down on a track tho.
Aha - im glad its not just me. I thought surely i dont have to have my heels on the pegs on this thing, after years of having the balls of my feet on the pegs. Ive actually ordered a rubber bung for a Honda as seems to be a similar size. So im sure it will do the job absolutely perfectly. I'll let you all know.
